Using proprietary Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam Technology, SUPERB^™, energy precisely passes through the skin’s surface (the epidermis), heating the mid-dermal tissue at just the right depth and temperature to rejuvenate collagen fibers and improve the overall appearance of the face.

How Sofwave^™ SUPERB^™ Works?

SUPERB^™ uses a proprietary system to administer ultrasound energy that reaches beneath the skin’s surface to the the middle layers of the dermis. The temperature is set so that it best stimulates new collagen production, which gradually tightens and smooths lax skin.

Treatments typically about an hour, depending on the size of the treatment area and the number of treatment areas requested. Patients can lie down and relax for the duration of the treatment. They should expect to feel warmth on the skin, though not to the point of pain. Discomfort is managed with help from a topical numbing cream applied to the treatment area ahead of the procedure.

Who is a Good Candidate for Sofwave^™ SUPERB^™?

Sofwave^™ is most often recommended for patients over 30 who have mild to moderate signs of aging on their face. These patients should want to reduce lines and wrinkles, tighten sagging submental and neck skin and/or lift the eyebrows without requiring surgery. When it comes to lines, SUPERB^™ is better suited for lines caused by frequent muscle movements than folds resulting in facial volume loss.

Unlike some similar treatments, SUPERB^™ is safe on all skin types and tones. (Some laser-based treatments can damage darker skin pigmentations). Sofwave’s high safety standards make it appropriate for most patients. Patients who are pregnant, have taken certain medications in recent months, or who have an open wound or active acne outbreak may need to wait to undergo this treatment.

What is Sofwave^™ Recovery Like?

Most patients do not experience downtime following Sofwave^™ treatment. Symptoms are typically limited to some temporary redness or swelling. Patients can resume normal activities and their usual skin care routine as soon as they leave Coastal Skin & Eye Institute.

What Results Can I Expect From Sofwave^™?

Patients notice significant improvement to their skin about one week following treatment, though it can take a few months for the full results to become apparent. Allow time for the boosted collagen production to become visible on the skin.
